So it begins..

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog where i will be regularly posting updates on my 2000 Toyota Celica GT.
I bought this car on the 6th of july 2011 with only 50.000km on it!

The car really runs like a beast, smoothe as butter! At the time of purchase the paint was covered with miniature scratches and swirls. On top of that the paint on the hood had gone quite a bit faint. 2 weeks later i got it completely polished and waxed, and the result was amazing!

Few shots snapped after i got the car back:

As you might have noticed on the picture above, i painted my brake calipers red. I had to replace the brake pads on the back (they had 50.000km on them, kinda makes sense..) and figured since i have to take off the calipers anyway, i might as well paint them as i go. Don't take this lightly though, doing it like this really is shit work. Mainly because when you detach the calipers, brake fluid starts leaking from the cables. Afterwards you have to let your brakes "bleed" due to air seeping in where the fluid once was. All in all it takes quite a while and detaching them can be rather frustrating at times.

Anyways, some shots of the painting process :)

Freshly detached caliper (front)

Calipers front and back, primer applied after degreasing and sanding them.

Painted, still wet :)

And the final result!

That's all for now folks! Stay tuned for more.

I'm currently working on my wheels. To find out how they look, check back in a week or so ^^.

Things in store for the future:
  • Dropping the car about 3" or more through coilovers, yes i like it low :3
  • Veilside bodykit
  • Replace headlights with Spec-D LED's
  • Custom made dual pipe exhaust system
  • Injen CAI
  • ...and more but that'll remain my secret for now ^^..
All in all, plenty of reasons to come back and see how the car evolves.

Until next time!
